I'm not sure which side runs this Village.

Herbs

  • Basil - plant in September
  • Corriander - plant seeds directly in the soil in spring
  • Mint - perennial (grow in tub! weedlike! 30 to 100 cm tall)
  • Parsley - biennial (but cooler (autumn) planting time might help it’s roots settle in)
  • Oregano - perennial, sow in the spring (slow germination)
  • Lemon Grass - plant during the wet season (summer)
  • Chives - perennial, sow from Spring to Autumn

Our building’s just installed some rainwater tanks, so when it rains I’m going to ask the body corporate if I can have one of the empty beds for a little herb garden. This is my planting plan so far.

hilker:

is this the recommended planting schedule or just your own?

It was a brief compilation of advice from around the internet for recommended sowing times for each herb I use a lot of. (In warmer parts of Australia.) I haven’t tried it out yet. I should run it by my folks. :)
